Michael D. Walrath was the founder and Managing Partner of Medical Bill Clinic, P.A., Florida’s only full service law firm dedicated exclusively to representing patients against overreaching medical providers, from 2009 until the firm closed in July of 2017.

Mr. Walrath earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, with a concentration in International Law.

Mr. Walrath has dedicated his entire legal career to negotiating and litigating the reasonableness of medical bills. Prior to launching MBC, Mr. Walrath served as Florida counsel to the Fairness Foundation, an Indiana non-profit organization which assisted uninsured patients nationwide in resolving their unpaid hospital bills.

Mr. Walrath also served as In-House Counsel to Olympus Managed Healthcare, Inc., the largest U.S. Cost Containment company serving the international health insurance market. Then, and since, he has and continues to represent international travelers and several international commercial healthcare payors, against Florida hospitals.

As such, Mr. Walrath has litigated hundreds if not thousands of hospital accounts against dozens of hospitals and hospital systems in Florida, establishing him as one of the few plaintiffs’ attorneys in in the state, and perhaps the country, with a practice dedicated to litigating these specialized issues.

Mr. Walrath speaks frequently on medical billing and hospital lien issues across the state, and is a member of the Florida Bar, the Southern and Middle District Courts, The New York Bar Association, The American Association of Justice, The Broward County Trial Lawyers Association, the Dade County Justice Association, the Central Florida Justice Association and The Florida Justice Association.
