BRADENTON – According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a man has died after being involved in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon.
The crash took place as a 22-year-old man from Bradenton was driving a motorcycle heading eastbound on Cortez Road West, approaching a median pass-through for 8400 Cortez Road West.
The report states that the motorcyclist was “at a high rate of speed”.
As the man approached the median pass-through, a 25-year-old woman was driving a Sport Utility Vehicle was traveling west on Cortez in the left turn lane as the motorcyclist approached.
At 4:43:00 PM, the SUV entered the eastbound lanes, and the front of the motorcycle collided with the right side of the SUV.
After the collision, the motorcyclist was separated from his vehicle.
First responders pronounced the man deceased at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries in the collision
FHP stated that the accident remains under investigation.
