BRADENTON – Florida Highway Patrol reported that one person was in serious condition after being hit by a vehicle Monday Night.
The crash took place Monday night as a 62-year-old woman from Bradenton Florida was riding a bicycle heading north on southbound 14th Street West (US 41) in the left lane of the road, south of 57th Avenue West.
As the woman continued north, a 37-year-old man from Sarasota was driving a pickup truck heading south within the center lane of southbound 14th Street West.
The report states that at 11:21 PM the woman crossed from the left lane into the center lane, and entered the path of the oncoming pickup truck.
The pickup truck collided with the bicyclist, and they were seriously injured in the crash.
The injured woman was transported to Florida Blake Hospital for medical treatment.
FHP has stated that the crash remains under investigation.
